The “Adult learning statistical country report – Portugal” which gathers data on participation in and the financing of adult learning in Portugal is now available.
With data from the Adult Education Survey (AES), the European Continuing Vocational Training Survey (CVTS) and the Labour Force Survey (LFS), this publication is composed of three sections: participation in adult learning; adult education operators; and financing of adult education.
According to this report, participation in formal adult learning decreased between 2011 and 2016, but participation in non-formal adult learning increased, especially when made available by employers.
Moreover, it appears that much non-formal adult learning is either paid for by employers or free of charge (funded by public services or state departments).
